Velvety Chocolate Mousse


  • 4 oz SunSpire™ Organic Fair Trade 100% Cacao Unsweetened Baking Bar, chopped
  • 4 oz heavy cream
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • ¼ cup Hain® Organic Sugar
  • Pinch of Hain® Sea Salt


This decadent desert is the premier choice for special occasions. Our recipe uses SunSpire™ premium dark chocolate for a sinfully rich flavor and a velvety smooth texture that literally melts in your mouth! Serve it chilled with berries, crème fraîche, or both. Yield: 6 - 8 servings.

In a double boiler, melt the chocolate with the cream, whisking until smooth. Add the sugar gradually, and blend well. Remove from the heat, and whisk in the egg yolks one at a time.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until stiff but not dry. With a rubber spatula, fold in the chocolate mixture in batches just until well incorporated.

Transfer to a serving bowl or individual stemmed glasses. Refrigerate, covered, for 5 hours before serving.
